So, I'm looking to maybeee, perhaaaps, possibly get rid of my Stax L300 and SRM-313 and replace it with a single headphone.
-the missuss keeps looking at my Stax amp with unveiled disdain, "too big" my foot!
I still have an L500, keep in mind, so it's not like I'm abandoning my Stax. That would be tossycock of the highest order.
I'm looking for something airy, resolving and fast with smooth highs.
Something sensitive that doesn't need amplification to give me what I want; a pair of headphones I can easily take with me to bed, toilet, the study, whatever.
Is this even possible? Grados perhaps? Hifiman?
I've grown entirely dependant on the stat sound, so I'm not exactly optimistic about replacing them.
