Yep, finally gave up on Price Japan, I was tired of waiting and also finally decided it wasnt worth the price difference to deal with any potential warranty issues that might come up.

They're (PriceJapan) a bit "too grey market" for my liking. Buying from Justin is a solid choice.

I finally came to the same conclusion. just wasn't worth it to me to save a couple hundred dollars. So I went ahead and shot Justin another email about them

I live in Huntington Beach CA (zip 92646) & I can't find anyone within a 50 mile radius that has a SR-009 that I can listen to.

So you've checked every house within a 50 mile radius? In that case maybe put some more fuel in your car so you can drive a little bit further.
 
You could also consider moving house or buying a pair of the sr-009s to listen to.
