I currently own the Stax 600 limited amp with the 404LE. I am considering the  omega mk 2 from elusive disc ( same place this rig was purchased) My first ? is since the omega mk 2 is still a current phone is it likely that they are still being made or the one pair at elusive is from 2008.

Secondly is the 600 limited sufficient for them as a amp...

thirdly are there any drastic drawbacks from buying the SR 009 from pricejapan for 1400 more..
Ironically the stax omega 2 are 2600 at elusive and 2300 at price while the 009 are 5250 v 4000.
thanks in advance.

The O2 probably won't pair all that great with your amp, but I bet the SR009 would.  I'd probably just go for the SR009 from PJ, that's a good deal.

If you buy an Omega 2 right now, my guess is that you'll probably get the Mk2.5 version, which is the worst of the lot. It's also not really suited to the SRM-600 LTD. Importing an SR-009 would be a much wiser choice.
