From what I understand the Stax SRD-5SB adapter get all power fom the poweramp speaker output, while the SRD-5 have a separate mains power supply cord. Could the SRD-5SB amp load cause any sonic degradation, and is there any improvements to be expected if rebuilt to external power supply?
