Does anyone know how to disassemble the Stax connectors on a 6 pin extension cable? I have one that has a metal connector at the socket end and a plastic connector at the plug end. Testing the cable shows one open wire, so I need to open up the connectors to locate and repair what I hope is a bad connection at one end.

which pin is open? if it's the center, that could be by design.

It's not the center pin, and the phones don't work correctly with the extension, though they work fine without it.
