I saw these for 450 bucks and pulled the trigger immediately.
People always talk crap about STAX's build quality, but I'm fine with it. Think about it -- nobody buys these for workout or for subway listening. So these should sit on your desk, and you'll pick them up and set them down gently. Besides, they aren't that poorly-built. The pegs worried me when I tried to take the cups out, but the plastic grills seem ... just fine. It's probably comparable to plastic on your wifi router or your external HDD. That's the best comparison I can come up with.
