I live in the Chicago land area, anyone know were to get the Stax 009 ear speakers worked on, I believe I have a channel imbalance, sound keeps fading in and out, I have tested them on 2 different amps so it has to be the ear speakers.They are no longer in warranty and I did buy them from Japan, so I was hoping to find a dealer or a person that can work on them for me. Thank's in advance..

No. (Never needed service for the four STAX systems I had.)

He does have a good reputation. For example, click here to see his feedback. There is also some feedback on that thread.

I wish I could direct you to a company in the US who offer out-of-warranty repair, but the current situation is...amorphous.

Yama's Enterprises (owner of STAXUSA.com) are no longer an authorized STAX distributor. HeadAmp.com, ElusiveDisc.com, and WooAudio.com are dealers, but I believe they just send things to STAX in Japan for service. I'd contact them about the possibilities to be sure.
