Stax 006 as a Preamp? | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org

Is anyone here using a Stax 006 or one of this series as a preamp in their system? It appears as though it is possible to do so if you only have a couple source components. Is it neutral enough for this purpose?

The only recent Stax amps with a preamp capability were the SRM-T1W and SRA-14S and they've been out of production for at least 12 years. The current amps do have a loop through but they can't be used as preamps.
