I have recently setup a Yamaha HTR-5730 to my onboard soundcard. I am using an optical Toslink connection to connect them. I have noticed a few problems, one of which is a strange 'tick' that plays in almost all of my songs. It plays in almost all of them, so I know that it wasnt a poor rip of an album. Its almost like its HD activity. The thing is, sometimes I get this problem in games too. The computer will lock up every X seconds for 1/2 a second.
Second, is sometimes when the computer loads a program or a new Firefox window...it makes so much static in the cans it completely distrupts the music. I think I might need to just format and reinstall, and even potentially buy a new hard drive.
