I get static from my receiver when treble or volume is turned up, I believe it is referred to as the noise floor when nothing is playing in my headphones I hear this static type noise constantly and it much more noticeable at higher volumes or if I turn up the treble.
Mind you this is coming from a pioneer SX-680 receiver from 1975 so it doesn't surprise me im just wondering if its just dust or an easily replaceable component that could cause this. Im using this thing until I can afford a proper headphone amp, believe it or not even with the static I think my pioneer from 1975 sounds WAY better than just plugging my headphones straight into the back of my computer.
