I had my canalphones plugged into a portable player and while undressing, got crazy static electricity shocks into both of my ears (not audible). It seems they traveled up the wire and shocked me out of the metal casing of the driver since the prickles are deeper inside my canal than the rubber plugs went.

Does this static damage headphones?

Sorry to bring up an old post, but lately I have been getting a lot of static charge at my job.

Yesterday I got a static shock in ear to my shuoer tape iems but they seem to be working fine.

Today I could actually hear crinkling (best way I can explain) coming from the shuoers. Then I went to open the door and a static charge jumped from my finger to the door. Metal doors btw.
