At my office we have a static electricity problem. Whenever you walk around for a while you get charged and zap whatever you happen to touch. It also occurs just sitting at my desk, once in a while I can make nice long sparks fly from my fingertips.
The problem is that my USB dac stops working everytime I zap my headphones, dac, or computer. I then have to unplug it and restart foobar etc.
I doubt I can eliminate the static problem at my office. Dry air, upholstered chairs, carpeting etc.
But is there some way I can ground the dac or the computer that would make it immune to the static shocks?
Any solutions to this will be greatly appreciated!
