Isn't the modi painted vs Bifrost being naked metal? Painted metals aren't conductive.
Thankfully it's just your wild static couch and your fuzzy socks as you shuffle over to the equipment.
A real and dangerous condition can exist if you have a floating ground and the cases become energized with mains voltage. If you touch just the case you won't notice... if you touch a floating case with one hand and a grounded case or 0 potential conductor (like a metal rack) with another appendage you will get shocked.
