My 1212 died (cap popped off the card and I don't have the skills to solder it so the part with the 1/4 jacks is sitting out till I can get it to someone to patch it). So I'm down to "regular old" sound cards for the time being.
Fortissimo III for a Revolution 7.1 and even a Sonica all have the same problem.
I started with the FortIII. It has seperate headphone and speaker jacks so I thought when I heard it through both of those it must be something deep in the card that was causing the problem.
I tried with both phones and speakers and multiple speakers/cans at that.
Tried different slots.
Seems to be the more sound going on at the same time the worse it is. I can hardly hear it at all when gaming, unless someone talks on teamspeak. Movies aren't so bad. But anything like rock and its painful. Volume doesn't seem to matter.
Never seen anything like this. Where to start?
Not the card.
Not the speakers.
Not the slot.
XPpro, fully updated, updated drivers on everything... blah blah blah.
