im thinking of using my computer as a source but do not know what to do in terms of DAC? I have an older PC without any of the PCI express, if that matters. I was informed that I could use the Headroom MicroDAC without having to upgrade the PC. But I dont have any optical or coaxial outs.

I know very little about setting this up. I'd dt880s/akg k81s and i have a harman kardon set of speakers (6) laying around. but those need my main pioneer unit? how would i hook them up to the computer/dac. haha. geez.

If your computer has a free USB port you could use that to connect to the Micro DAC.

Be sure to hold out for the improved 2007 Micro DAC.
