Are there any headphone stands out there for IEMs? When I take my Shure se500s off I usually just lay them on some papers at my desk, but invariably the earpieces seems to wrap themselves around the cord. Then after untangling, I often get the left and right mixed up. For some reason even after a year of owning them I still can't look at them and tell which one's left and which one is right.

I'm envisioning something like a Woo stand, but smaller... or maybe a regular-sized headphone stand with a separate section or hooks for IEMs. Each earpiece should sit far enough apart from the other one so that the wires don't get tangled.

Has anyone built something like this, either commercially or for themselves?

Take some bright red nail polish and put a dot on the right piece frame. To wrap the excess cable you could try a sumajin smartwrap: Sumajin Smartwrap Stereo Earphone Cord Manager for Ipod MP3 Players

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'll go ahead and build a small stand just to see how well it works.
