Provided both of them are using comfies as pads, would they sound the same? Sonic differences?

I'm sure it does, though whether or not you could hear it is anyone's guess.
I'd like to hear an SR80 again, actually. I only heard them briefly a good long time ago, but I remembered preferring the SR60 to the SR80. Strange, since I really like the SR60 with bowls...
