I have always really liked the sound of the Grado SR60. Recently I was in the market for sealed cans. As I posted in another thread I was led to the HD280's which I have returned and got the Sony 7506. I am very happy with the 7506.
I was doing an A/B with the Grado SR60 (only out of an iPod) and I find the following:
These two phones are very close in sound for two different types of headphones. As expected the Grado's have a more open soundstage but the 7506 is very close and very impressive for a sealed headphone. With the exception of the slightly diminished soundstage and the isolation factor creating a bit more low end feeling I find these two phones to perfectly compliment each other depending on if you want light open phones or need a little isolation.
Remember I'm only basing this on portable iPod use only.
Anyone else find this sound comparison? i cant imagine that one could like the sound of one of these phones but not the other.
