I have been looking resently into getting the SR60s, but i am starting to worry because of the comfort and that i have a big head. Are there any alternitives with the grado sound under $100? I listen to rock music.

Sennheiser HD497 and Sennheiser HD555 are both decent alternatives...I bet you can find the HD555s for under $100 if you search enough online.

Btw, I find the HD497s less comfortable than the SR60s. As long as you don't mind pads touching your ears, Grados are comfortable headphones. Just use a few books and an unabridged dictionary to loosen the headband and you're set, regardless of the size of your head.

HD497 and HD555 sonic signature sounds very different from that of the HD580/HD600/HD650...certainly not as laid back...I haven't tried the HD555, but I know that the HD497s are different.

They will present rock differently than Grados, however.

I'd look into Koss KSC75 for the cheap, portable alternative. They are darker but still impactful, like the Grados.
