i'd been dreading the day, but it happened, intermittent sound out from the right speaker. i'd gotten an irreparable twist in the cable, and the blue and white cables were not exposed. naturally constant stress on the much more delicate blue and white cables must have stretched the wire inside to breaking point - there are other breaks in the cable, too, notably where the cable leaves the metal driver housing, and about an inch below that there's also a split.

anyway, is there anyone who does a decent cable (ideally a tough one that won't tangle easily) that can be recommended?

cable tangling is more a problem caused by the free turning earcups.
for recables, look at apuresound and headphile, two of the head-fi sponsors. I believe headphile has a locking system that may reduce the spinning?
