2.5 days by priority mail to 72201. Pretty good!

I was struck by how small the SR-71 is. Even smaller than the picture. Ear Candy cable is flexible and substantial at the same time, a nice uptick from the other mini to minis I have seen.

Now if I could just find the charger to my iPod and a couple of 9 volts. More to follow I am sure!

That would make two SR-71s that have arrived!

A heads up for all you lucky new owners. After 50+ hours the batteries will give up on you. Not bad for 2-9V's. Anyway you will see that the LED still works although the batteries will not have enough power to drive the audio circuit. This bit of knowledge might save you some time and a phone call thinking something is wrong with your amp when all you need is new batteries.

As you might guess I thought something was wrong and fiddled with everything except the batteries before making a phone call.

I got my SR-71!!! It's not up to XP-7 with AD797s standards yet, but might be with burn in!

Fedex dropped off my package this afternoon (NJ).
An immediate transformation of the ipod. Amazing, I can't wait to get it burnt in.
Great picture, Jester, a lot of ipod owners have been waiting for that shot.

Yes, but it did not cost as much as your XP-7 either!

I was going to get an XP7 with the AD797s because of its reputation of being dead silent with the E5Cs. However, I would much rather go with the SR-71 if it is also dead silent with the E5Cs. Can anybody help me with this information? Thanks...

Is it dead silent? Not with the e5's.
Does it matter? Not with the Sr-71.
Why? Well, with no music, hiss is barely perceptable at 10:30 (out of 7-5:00), and becomes noticeable at 12:00. By comparison, my normal listening volume ranges from 8:15 to 9:20 and rises to 10:00 only for infrequent special rock songs.
Furthermore, the depth and fullness of the sr-71's sound signature overwhelms any semblance of hiss.
That being said, this combination is merciless with recording quality.
