I just bought a pair of SR 225s new for $160 =)!

But I'm not sure on two things

A. Is it worth it paying 15 bucks for the Grado Adapter? Or should I just stick with a piece adapter... like from radioshack?

B. Best case for the value? (specific please)

A.Yes get the Grado adapter as it puts much less strain on your DAPs HP out.

I would go with the cheaper Sennheiser adapter. Actually, I would reterminate but that's just me.

I guess it depends how much you want them protected. Hard case vs. soft case. The soft case is not going to do much it they get crushed.
