I found this while digging around for my "ultimate transport"--a device which can play FLACs off an external hard drive and output LPCM on COAX, all via a nice GUI.

Hardly a Squeezebox killer--it has some usability/aesthetic issues (see review above), and the company is rather young--but it can stream audio and video from a network (WiFi/Wired) or from a hard drive (has USB port). Supports about everything--see the specs:

I'd never seen this posted here before, if it has, my apologies. What do you guys think? Unless the new Oppo 980H can play FLACs from HDDs, I will become increasingly sold on this; it can be had on the cheap, too, just froogle it.

Cheers

Might not have to wait long. Trigger finger is getting shaky. I just love the flac/HDD support. Personally I'd love to mount/install a usb hard disk inside of the unit and make it something of a digital jukebox.

It occurred to me that my "ultimate transport," as described, could be a computer-as-source, but that really lacks the simplicity of this sort of setup..
