Whitch is better for music playing (.flac + Grado SR80)? If AV710 is better, by how much (on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 is excellent). Is a considerable sound quality difference between the two?

you must not game. The srs processing is awesome. With headphone I can pin point where anyone his on the map with counter strike. Helped alot. I don't mind it for non critical music listening foobar's resampler helps with that.

I actually am a rather heavy gamer, but the soundstage and imaging on my K1000 make up for lack of surround sound and EAX tenfold.

I can close my eyes and spin my character around, and it's chilling how real the soundstage and imaging is.

I plan to have 2 sound cards in the system, one audigy 2 (that's connected to my 2.1 speakers and used only for games and movies) and one AV710 (used use only for music, with a pair of Grados 80). Is this a good match (Grado sr80 + AV710, without an amp or anything)? Are there better alternatives in this price range?

Oh, and one last question. Do the newer revisions of AV710 have poorer sound quality then the old revisions? I've read somewhere that the newer ones use ViA Ensemble and poor caps, instead the old ones that used IC Ensemble and Rubycon caps. Is this true?

It's ok to connect the grados to AV710 without an amp? How is the SQ compared to the grado+audigy2, in this case?
