I plan to buy a smartphone with a headphone jack (the usual female TRRS). I want to (can I?) use a splitter to simultaneously use a TRRS mic/headset to talk on the phone, and listen to music on an external speaker with a TRS connector.

It looks like https://www.amazon.com/MillSO-Headset-Splitter-3-5mm-Adapter/dp/B07569QKQQ will split the TRRS like I need, but I can't find a male-TRRS-to-female-TRS adapter.

Wonder if it's just that I can't find it, or is there something I'm missing. (I know that my plan itself is not a hifi one, for example I expect the audio output signal to be weakened by splitting it.)

Do you mean something like this?

Thank you very much for the reply, PlantsmanTX!

Maybe that is what I need! (I may as well try it for ten bucks.)

One Q&A says it "Will...work for stereo headphone cable".

I hadn't considered it because it's intended for mic input, whereas I want to use it for stereo (L/R) audio output, so it seems like it must 'adapt' different connections on the TRRS than I want it to.
