TITANO - Part 2

Set up:
Source: Liquid Music with Mac Book Pro + Audirvana Plus + TIDAL
Headphone Amplifier: SXT-2 Limited & Ray Samuels The Dark STAR
DAC: Apogee
Headset: Spirit Torino TITANO & Spirit Twin Pulse

Hello, Headphones,
As promised today I continued listening to the new Spirit Titan, with 2 other Solid State Class A Headphone Drivers, such as the SXT-2 Limited Edition and the Ray Samuels, The Dark Star.
As far as the two Drivers are concerned, both have confirmed to be excellent amplifiers to drive at best the Titano, which in the meantime has shown some slight but significant improvements, as far as the Headstage and the Focalization of the various Musical Plans are concerned, a sign that as it had already happened with its bigger sister, the Twin Pulse, these Headphones by Spirit Torino, need the right break-in time, at least 100/150 hours for the single Driver Headphones, and maybe 200/300 hours for the TP, which have four drivers. And the thing is not at all strange, because all the Headphones of any Manufacturer, as for the Home Speakers, need to work, and accumulate hours, to then give the best Performance, promised by their Manufacturers. Therefore, I invite all those who make a new purchase, not to get caught by the first discomfort, when they listen to a Headphone, freshly high from its case. Now here, thanks to my experience of more than 3 Lustrys, on the subject of Headphones, I can easily understand the potential of a Headphone, even if this is a New Headphone, sent without Running-in, as in the case of this Spirit. The continuous listening for many hours a day, allows me to evaluate some characteristic parameters, that already at the first listening must be present, even if not totally expressed. And then with the mechanical work of the drivers and the listening, they take shape and determine the final structure of the same. If a Headphone, on the other hand, shows some musical deficiencies, such as little Detail, Transparency or Gamma deficiency in Low or High, time and use are unlikely to distort these deficiencies. To understand us better, all the owners of a Twin Pulse, at the beginning even if it sounds good, have perhaps found it too swollen and/or rubbery at the bottom, and such as to partly cover the Mid and High Gamma, but after the run-in period, around 200/300 hours, have noticed that this effect, has practically disappeared, and the Bass has become taut and balanced and well amalgamated with the rest of the Upper Spectrum. Also the Cable, like the internal drivers, must have its settling time, to refine itself, and give its Characteristics, that's why I suggest to everyone, to let the Headphone go for several days with the Cascade Burn in File by TaraLabs, which allows quite quickly to optimize the sound performance of the Cables, refining and orienting the grains of the molecular structure, thus allowing a free and fast flow of sound, inside it.
The behaviour of the Titan with the 2 Headphone Drivers, mentioned above, confirmed its excellent behaviour, in terms of Scenic Presence, Detail and Low Range Speed, while the Middle and High part was always Transparent and never Sparkling or Stridula. This is a sign that the Headphone is easy to drive, and that its performance improves by raising the level of the Electronics to which it is connected, and so it must be. The Drivers in question, unlike the Burson Conductor V2+, have an internal Dual Mono Architecture, and Full Balance, it's all set up, it travels in Balanced Configuration, from the Source, be it DAC or CD Player, to the Driver and the Headphone. Therefore the already excellent performances obtained by the pair, Burson and Titan Headphone, here reach the maximum in terms of driving, thanks also to the use of Digital Cables and Signal in Acrolink 7N or Silver Monocrystal 8 Core, that Invictus Cable, has built, according to the Characteristics of the Components, the Set ups and the Headphones you want to listen to. Another fundamental point to keep in mind, when setting up a Headphone System and/or 2CH, is to make the various Components that compose it synergic as much as possible, so as not to create any lack of expectations when listening to them. And this is all the more important when we raise our bar in terms of Components and Headphones. This means, that if I buy a 3K Top Headphone, it is not necessarily that this one alone, makes the whole system sound good, if this Set up, we have not thought and built it, to be Performante, with that kind of Headphone. So when you decide to buy an important Headphone, the whole Chain must be rightly seen, adequate.!!!Going back to talk about the peculiarity of this Titan, the fact to intervene on the closing or not of the holes placed on the front of the two Pads, is as said at the end of Part One, a great news and a crazy coolness... because it allows you to have different ways of Sound, from this Headphone, and that can apply in relation to the Characteristics of the Drivers and also of the Albums that you are listening to... for example the Amplifier or the Software give a thin and/or thin sound, then we can partially correct the Sound emitted by the Titan, going to plug 2/3 or all 5 holes, so as to increase the presence of Medium Low and Low, if instead we have a Warm and/or Fat Sound, we would keep all the holes open, so as to partially compensate that portion of Gamma Sonora. So I find this application, an excellent intuition from Andrea, even if it is not the panacea to the resolution of a poor Set up, but it certainly helps. The initial configuration, with the holes all open, allows to have a Headphone response, for really Audiophile listening, where Detail, Transparency, Transient Speed, give the right taste, to the listening of a demanding listener...just like now it's happening to me, listening to "I'm Tired of These Blues" of the Album, "Give it Up to Love" by Mighty Sam McClain...Guys a Bomb! !!...We'll update in the next few days, with 3 more Valve Set ups, that will pilot the Titan...and I'll update you on its feedback...Stay Tuned!!!
