Spending 1K on rig is nothing.....

Its funny how many of the same people I see on this forum and Fred Miranda, seems photography and audiophilia go hand in hand. I gotta agree that photography is a much more expensive hobby than headphones. For the price of a consumer grade lens (like the 85mm f/1.8) you can get a world class set of cans (i.e. Senn 650s).

My friend, I have over $20K worth of photography equipment, and I STILL don't have everything I need.

True! 1k is nothing...
Many of us have spent several times that just on headphones, not counting source, amplifiers, cables, etc...

At least somewhere else than this forum.
Cause it don't seem very related to "Portable Audio"...

Yeah, almost any hobby gets expensive when you get serious about it. My wife just bought a D-30. Pricey. The Head-fi thing is actually pretty cheap (so far

) when I compare how much I've spent and am still spending on my interests. It's funny, I don't seem to realize how much is being spent because it's an ongoing thing. An upgrade here, a new part there; it definitely adds up.

Motorcycles - At least $40K (thats just two bikes!) Sold'em

Hot-rods - At least $70K Sold'em

IPSC Shooting - About $20K to have a decent set-up. Two open pistols and a limited, two reloaders and related equipment, miscellaneous gear. Also, depending on how much you shoot, a $400-$1000 dollar monthly bill for ammo.

And you still have travel expenses to shoot the bigger matches. Hope I get that sponsorship soon!
