Hey guys,

nearly any 'stat review I've came across mentions the amazing speed and transience etc.

Now I have to admit that I don't know much about particular 'stat models, but I've found these interesting measurements on ryu's website:

There are other measurements that also show that at least this model is inferior to their dynamic "counterparts" (in a scientific way).

So I've wondered: what do those people hear and how do they define these terms?

I don't know how to interpret these graphs, however these are not the graphs on his website.
He also typically doesn't mention what amp he uses for headphones, though I am going to assume he used the SRM-006t as he mentions it on the page.
Not that I particularly care other than understanding, because IMO the 650 sounds awful.

Amps govern more than frequency response.
And no, they arent. The graphs you listed are from 08, and these are from 09 (and I believe he has improved the equipment he uses/methods since then)

Those are the same measurements I think,
take a closer look at the x- and y-axis.

Besides that, the hd650 one still looks superior..

Check out the area around 80 Hz and all those spikes from 1 kHz upwards.
