Hi,
High eff is mostly 90db + , and 8 ohms impendance is the best.
For the trends I think 90db is really the bare minimum, it will sound a bit strained sometimes. ( depending on the volumes) I think from 93db up you'll be fine. ( if you play at quite loud volumes) .... My speakers are 96db and go very loud with the trends.
It's a shame you can't order on the internet, there's so much nice stuff! Have a look at klipsch speakers, they are quite efficient.
The klipsch F-1 (93db/8ohm) or (95.5db/8ohm)F-2 floorstanding speakers should be good value ....
Or the Klipsch b3 (93,5db) if you'd rather go with bookshelves, But then you need good stands...
The f-2 seems like an ideal choice.
