I need to build (1) a speaker selector box and (2) an extension cord for my K1000
Details on the speaker selector box:
This will select between two pairs of speakers. It will have one pair of binding posts, being the input. It will have a 4PDT switch. It will have two pairs of binding posts being the outputs.
I need some idea of how to choose these components:
Next, I need to fashion an extension cable for my K1000. One end should be bare wire or spade lugs, attached to the binding posts. The other end should be a female XLR. Again, some basic questions:
Regarding the switch, Michael Percy does carry 4PDT switches that are rated for high current and voltage, with silver contacts.

I need some idea of how to choose these components:
- Where can you get a good metal project box inexpensively?
- What type of binding posts should I use? Decent but not really expensive.
- What type of 4PDT switch? Decent but not really expensive. Must handle speaker-level signals
- What wire should I use for internal wiring? Decent but not really expensive.

- What type of cable? (purchase raw speaker cable by the foot?)
- Use spade lugs? Or bare wire?
- What kind of XLR connector (female)?
