I have wires/cables so I'm looking to set up speakers in a cafe (approximately 2500 sq feet) and I'm wondering what my options are. We're on a limited budget so under 1,000 is nice, 500 is great/ideal...? My friend was suggesting many mini speakers and I was thinking 2 or 3 larger ones, which one is more pleasant acoustically? I have no idea what i'm doing so any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Music will be background, so I would say ceiling speakers. Mini speakers would be better suited IMO.

Any recommendations on mini speakers? Haven't seen too many sales on slickdeals either

You know what I never see at a cafe but would love to see? Some nice hi-fi speakers on stands or a floorstander.... projecting beautiful sound. That is a cafe I would love to go to. Granted that people talking and street noise would interfere some of the sound quality, I do believe you would get better sound than ceiling speakers (at least the ones I've heard).

Then you can play some nice relaxing cafe/jazzy music.

The budget doesn't allow for much though, it could probably get you a entry level 6.5 inch pair and a cheap amp.
