I might have asked this already but dont remember. I have a SPDIF connection on my sound card. Is there a way I can go from that to a 1/8" mini connection for my headphones? Also would it sound any better since it would then be going from digital to analog vs straight 1/8 to 1/8 as it is now.

Thanks

Yes, you can hook your digital out (is it optical or coaxial?) up to a DAC with an analog 1/8" out. Yet you cannot connect an analog device such as a headphone directly to a digital out. You'll get digital static, if anything at all. Those 0s and 1s want to be converted back to waveforms first.
