Big shout out to Mike aka Tyrion for hosting the SoFlo meet today. Got to see some old friends and meet a few new ones. Gear impressions to follow but we had most of the orthos in the house Hifiman x and 1000, he500 and he6, Audeze X and XC and Mr Speakers Ether. All good stuff. Impressions to follow. Thanks to follow

Think I prefer the LCD -X to the Hifiman X or Ether. The Ether is super fun and by far the most comfortable but the bass is significantly boosted. The hifiman x is really good and more comfortable than the LCD-X but the tonality of the LCD trumps the hifiman for me. Maybe with more time with the Hifiman would produce a different result

I really liked the Hifiman HE-6. While it had less mid bass than my HE-560, its mids and high were less smeared with an open, resolute tonality to them.
Of course, the Stax and Blue Hawaii were mighty impressive too. I like the LCD-X but they just don't commit to that magical midrange of the LCD-3.
The Hifiman HE-1k are very nice, but I think I liked the HE-6 better. At the end of the day, I still prefer my LCD-3f's for their natural, organic sound. I will pursue getting the LCD-4 sometime I'm the future as funds permit. Thanks Tyrion for hosting a nice meet and a pleasure to meet new fellow head-fi members.

I had such a good time though I couldn't get to demo everything. I enjoyed the HE-6 and the SR007 very much. It was also such a treat to try out the baby Orpheus. The meet also allowed me to try the Ragnarok with my HD800 which I've been considering for it. Thank you very much tyrion for hosting. It was such an awesome time.

I agree, Hifiman has come a long way both in sound and comfort.
