Meet is in full swing. Some classic SinglePower amps with various Focal Utopia, Clear Elex and Grado HF1, HF2 and HP1 cans in use. Sourced by an Oppo 205.

I already figured that out, but with your place being a mini-meet, I thought you guys had more amps than pairs of ears. Our upcoming Houston meet will probably not be that way, as we will be charging cash for most people.

So who knew the Pico DAC/amp (Dominat0r's) could drive K- 701s. Turns out it sounded great with the Focal Listens, too.

I really liked them as well. Just seemed like a pretty dynamic and mostly balanced sounding headphone going by memory now.

I really liked the pads on carl's 701. I am going to have to get those for my 702s for sure.

I have to say, the Utopia to me was a little boomy. It was clear, maybe just a tad bit loose in the bass department. the highs sparkled and the mid range was present....but the low end kinda drowned out some of the lighter mid range tones. Again, this is just personal. I can see how these are loved with the right amp/DAC setup. To me, the sound is very much like Beyerdynamics higher end line.

The Listens were close, but the detail was just not as present as it was with the utopia. A LOT less boomy as well. Very good cans for the money and I can see these being popular since the price.

I was surprised about the Focal Listen. I may be picking a pair up. I was also surprised by the Pico Amp/AKG 701 (w/Carl's pads) combination. It was also nice to be able to use the SinglePower amps, all still kicking and sounding great. Of course, we can't forget the Eddie Current Balancing Act, in particular with some of the Grado headphones. Jp, thanks for hosting. I think you got back the title of Meetmaster.

I'd love to bring my custom tube amp and see how it goes toe to toe with these big boys.
Maybe you guys will announce a meet or do it in a public place, if not I'd love for you guys to go to a local meet ! It would be fun.
