I am looking at options too. Currently I am using a PS Audio Digital Link III. It works very well, but I would like to see what a different DAC will do. I have been curious about the V-DAC. Please do give some impressions when it comes in. (And your new Denons!)

Hi, jga, I just had the opportunity to listen to my friend's LA2000 for a brief but extensive period of time (fantastic!)... seriously made me listen to music well into the night. Presuming that unmodded D7000s also have the same characteristics, I think you might consider Paradisea+ DAC. Sounded damn good. Considering that many people recommend SS amplification for Denons, a bit of tube magic in the source makes the music through Denons pretty intoxicating, I think.
