Soundstage for gaming

The quality of soundstage in a game depends almost entirely on the HRTF model that the game uses. The game's sound engine constructs the soundstage, not the headphones.
 
Make sure the game is set to 'headphones' rather than 'speakers' if the option exists.

I find open headphones do give a better idea of where things are than closed headphones.
