When you can, please compare the 10th vs the SR8 for us :raised_hands:
Hey again, I managed to get a few hours with the 10th after all. Just FYI, it's been burning in nicely for a solid day before I got to play with it. Here are my comparisons:

Soundstage:
SR8 has a larger soundstage, not by much, but when compared you can tell the difference. The 10th is no slouch, but the SR8 takes the win here.

Bass:
With the 1-1 config on the SR8, bass is more punchy, but the 10th has a beautiful sub bass focused bass that is just delightful on some tracks, so I have to pick the 10th here.

Treble:
Honestly, hard to pick a winner here. For me they are bought nice and sparkly without being fatiguing. Asked blindly, I probably could not be able to tell the difference.

Timbre:
Again, a tight contest but the SR8 edges it out. There are certain macro details that it manages to pick out that the 10th doesn't highlight, if that makes sense.

Comfort:
10th wins here. It feels so perfectly shaped for my ears and the bundled cable is great at just being there without making its presence felt. If I had to go for a longer listening session, I might side with the 10th over the SR8.

From the comparison above, the takeaway is that the 10th is a solid deal coming in at 499, while the SR8 is about 700 USD. The SR8 is still the better package for me and probably my endgame. The 10th is a solid addition because it does have some characteristic differences from the SR8 that I really enjoy.

I sat myself down and found a way to EQ my SR5 to sound like a DUNU SA6 Ultra. This EQ only applies from 800Hz upwards as I wanted to keep the original low end the SR5 provides.

Markdown (GitHub flavored):
Preamp: -3.2 dB
Filter 1: ON PK Fc 800 Hz Gain 0.9 dB Q 0.500
Filter 2: ON PK Fc 880 Hz Gain -1.5 dB Q 2.000
Filter 3: ON PK Fc 2200 Hz Gain 0.6 dB Q 2.000
Filter 4: ON PK Fc 3200 Hz Gain -2.1 dB Q 2.000
Filter 5: ON PK Fc 3200 Hz Gain 0.6 dB Q 0.500
Filter 6: ON PK Fc 4600 Hz Gain 3.5 dB Q 2.000
Filter 7: ON PK Fc 5700 Hz Gain -2.4 dB Q 2.000
Filter 8: ON PK Fc 7000 Hz Gain 5.6 dB Q 2.000
Filter 9: ON PK Fc 9300 Hz Gain -6.4 dB Q 2.000

This iem is now perfect for my personal taste. I have finally found my fav tuning. I guess I will only update my gear from now on.

As much as I love the look, design and sound of the SR8, I've made the difficult decision to put mine up for sale here (to within the UK). Realistically it's competing too closely with the Alita for the genres I enjoy. That and my earbuds have been getting alot of listening time lately.

I'll be keeping a close eye on SR going forward, they know what they're doing....

Anybody can recommend some good quality cable for the SR8?

I'm super impressed with the SR5! After some burn-in time and switching to the NiceHCK BlackSoul cables/Spinfit W1 tips, they rock! The sound quality is truly outstanding. They really shine on the ifi go bar, but after a few days break-in, playing through a Gustard A18 + Liquid Platinum Amp, the level of detail, mids, and bass quality really stood out. I'm so pleased with the SR5 that I couldn't resist ordering a pair of 10th anniversary Penons to see if they're any better 🤯

update: after some more testing, I've found the ifi iSilencer3 > ifi Go Bar > Liquid Platinum sounds the best with the SR5. It seems to like more power (hence the liquid platinum amp) and while not as resolving as the Gustard A18, the little go bar pairs perfectly with this IEM; especially when adding the silencer. I have a Cayin RU7 and C9 Amp on order and excited to see if they can better this combo.
