How are you liking it over the SR8?

Right now the SR8 is out on loan to someone for a bit. Once I've got it back, and the DTE500 has some hours on it, I'll make some comparison notes....

Found something interesting while reading on hifiguides.com forum.

DTE500 and the ISN EST50 share same driver config and the measurement is very similar.

EST50 is a IEM that I truly love, the boosted bass with gentle mids and treble. Still having a good balance of detail and not being to detailed. A fun set IMO.

Wanted to share it since I am a reader in here 😁

If the DTE500 does indeed sound similar to the EST50, then I fully understand the praise it's been given.

The EST50 is probably the only IEM I have gone back to after some time, let burn in (and actually feel benefited from it) and felt it sounded better after the honeymoon period.

Only difference in the 2 models’ names are the D and S, and one extra 0. Coincidence?:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

DTE500 sounds better. And I love my EST50.
DTE500 has better treble and the bass is cleaner. Better resolution too.

Seems like Akros will review the SR8? 🤔
I wish I can listen to that guy for longer than 5 minutes but his mic/room setup and voice makes the sound quality of his video grate on my ears. Ironic for someone who cares so much about sound quality. Wish he'd upgrade his mic.

Any wonder about the graph of SR8? After doing some math i think i kinda match the graph of SR8 on normal squiglly line

yea SR8 is warm and neutral, the Timmy curve is almost Crin’s nerf’d harman with sub-bass boost, I can see few db may be added to 2-3khz but fairly close.

SR8 is micro:macro 40:60 IEM at stock and can be 30:70 or 50:50 depending on the switches.

I’m micro/macro 60:40 person, so I’m enjoying 50:50 tuning (0-0-3) 👍

Crin ’s latest taste is 65:35, and HBB is 30:70 to my impression for their recent tuning targets.
