Ever since connecting a Sony WH-1000XM4 to my computer with Bluetooth, I've been getting strange sound randomly.
I no longer have the WH-1000XM4, but my sound still gets weird randomly.
It will be fine for hours then suddenly it sounds strange.
I use an ADI-2 DAC FS.
Sometimes it fixes itself after a random amount of time.
I can fix it by changing the bitrate then relaunching whatever program I'm listening to.
The sound gets high pitched ringing noises at a few different frequencies including 10 kHz and all the sound goes up in pitch.
It also sounds crackly and like it's very low bitrate, like 10 kHz or lower.
I've tried reinstalling the ADI-2 DAC FS driver "MADIface" with no luck.

Bump. Tried reinstalling my Nvidia audio driver and it hasn't been back in a couple days. I hope it stays gone.

You’re hearing the bitrate switch while audio content is playing. It essentially shifts everything up or down to correspond to the new bitrate. There are a few ways to address it, but a good one is to use exclusive mode for whatever you’re playing music through.
