Hi everyone, and forgive the possibly inane question. I was eyeing a good portable amp when I realized that i rarely listen outside of home. So now I'm considering a stationary amp/DAC like the Fiio E10. Problem is, most of my music is on my iPod Classic 80gig (6gen), and NOT on my Macbook (not enough storage), and the E10 doesn't have a line in. So it occurred to me to simply hook up the iPod to the Macbook using its charging cable and play it via iTunes, then listen to it through the USB DAC of the E10. Does anyone listen their iPod this way? How is the sound quality? Right now I find the iPod marginally livelier sounding than the Macbook via their respective headphone ports. Will the iPod sound better or worse connected this way? Thanks in advance. Alex.
