Sound quality out of PDAs?

My Zire 71 plays audio nicely with Aeroplayer. It's just a bit lacking in volume so you need efficient phones or maybe an amp. The player can boost it a bit, but there's some distortion. If you want to do other stuff at the same time you can, but there can be some audio glitches when swapping apps.

I must agree with Ipaqman about the sound of 2210.
It`s very good!

Had a handspring visor mini jam module with sr60's. Very loud for an unamped pda powered unit. wish I kept it. only problem with slow and skippy transfers from PC.

Until recently, it was ogg vorbis out of the Tungsten T (nothing more than ~ 390Kbps though, otherwise this 1st gen T has problem keeping up.) And there is a clip below 160Hz, in fact I believe on all Palm models.

It just barely drives the etys and the sub-160Hz was sorely missed.

I've used mainly Ogg Vorbis on my Toshiba e740 (for space concerns, as I don't have a memory card yet), and at --q6, they sound quite good. I even ran it out to a PA system one time at a friend's house to let him listen to a song, and it never showed any sign of crapping out. Crisp, clear, and full.

I think the wow factor also is kinda nice. People don't expect you to whip out a handheld computer to play music. Or movies, for that matter...

People always are amazed about the things you can do with a PDA.
The list of things you do with it is endless!

Yeah I really love my iPaq. Let`s transfer more music to it.

Well, it's a smarthphone more than a PDA, but I had some mp3s in my Sony Ericsson P800 and the sound quality was surprisingly good. I had to use an adapter since it has a 1/16" headphone jack, and I think the adapter I found had a resistor inside, but the sound was great! MUCH better than my Clie NR-70.

Anyway, that was before I dropped it and the screen got destroyed
