I have Klipsch Image X10 headphone that I use to listen to music from both my Dell XPS 1645 Laptop and Ipod Touch 4. The laptop has IDT High Definition Audio Codec sound card. The driver for the sound card is the most up to date one. I tried to listen to the exact same music file (e.g. from Spotify with the same high quality setting or I copy the same music file) from my laptop and Ipod using the same Klipsch headphone.

I wonder why the sound quality when I listen from my iPod is way better than sound quality when I listen from my Laptop? I believe that the difference in sound quality is not because of different headphone or audio files quality. In general, is sound quality from iPod should be better or worse than that from laptop with IDT HD Audio Codec sound card?

Is the sound card that I have a bad one? Is there any setting I could adjust to make the sound quality from my laptop at least as good as the sound quality from my iPod?
