i've just read a thread about the great sound quality of the shuffle... and i also heard about the sound quality of the latest ipod. so which one is better??? i might be willing to settle for a shuffle now if a newer (longer battery life) version of the 5G is coming out soon...

Use the search, but in short: better=shuffle. It's the best iPod in terms of sound quality out of the headphone output.

The last few times I saw this, it was about evenly split between Shuffle and 5G. Shuffle has been around longer, as such it has had more time to accumulate posts about how it's the best iPod in terms of SQ.

For pure sound quality shuffle is the best. Total re-designed circuit then the standard ipod. Very clean and good bass output. Amps are also very strong.
