Does anyone know if there is a way to ground a sound card? May seem like a daft question, I'm fully aware it should be grounded through the motherboard but it doesn't seem to be.

The problem I have is a ground issue that causes the digital signal from my m-audio 24/96 to drop out whenever some thing is plugged in (an electrical plug, a usb cable) or anything metal that comes into contact with the front panel of my dac (dacmagic).

It doesn't help things by my amp not and dac not having a mains ground but surely they should be grounded through the interconnects? I've tested the mains sockets and their all grounded correctly as is the pc.

I've tried running the dac through usb and using the onboard digital out and have no ground issue with either, so it must be the soundcard. Or am I missing something?

Any help would be gratefully recieved.

cheers
