So as you already know the Fnatic 7H is the analog version of the SteelSeries 7H so I can't use the USB souncard. I am an audiophile and I completely understand that this is nothing on the level of like some DT 880s, but this is all I have at the moment ^__^ so I need a decent soundcard to go with it.. I am not about to spend like $1,000 on some Apogee, so what do you guys suggest?

I play video games competitively, like Counter Strike and DotA so I need to hear certain frequencies and sounds really good.
 
P.S. Should I just get rid of the 7H and get some new cans with a soundcard?

Do you need stereo output or surround output on the card?

At the very least, since it's a 3.5mm stereo headset from the sound of it, you can get some improvement by getting a sound card now, and then trying out some better headphones later.
 
You might want to read up on my PC gaming audio guide and check out these videos recorded with CMSS-3D Headphone and Dolby Headphone to get an idea of what to expect and how much you like the effect or not.

I would just be using my Steelseries soundcard, because it is 7.1 surround, but since the Fnatic version doesn't support 7.1 I will have to go with a nice dedicated 2.0-2.1 soundcard. Also my budget is $150 max

$150? More than enough for an X-Fi Titanium HD.
 
Your headset may very well hold its true fidelity back, but if you get better headphones later, it'll be a better match for them.
