  You know what is the stupidest thing for me?
SONY DOESN'T SELL HI RES PRODUCTS IN MY COUNTRY!

No Hi Res walkman nor any earphones

 
Sometimes companies make such decisions if they don't think there's enough market in certain countries to justify importing some high-end or specialised products.  Hopefully @Sonyvores is still lurking around and can pass this on through an internal channel.

Fiio sells their hi res goodies in India (my country) but through ebay and amazon but sony still sells outdated walkman models here!

I meant he can pass on your feedback to the department in charge making decisions of which products go to which markets.  If enough people complain this may change eventually.
 
I'm surprised about this though, as I would think of India as a fairly substantial market and even a 'niche' segment can translate to sales of thousands of units.

Most of the people here are blinded by I Pod type music player which is basically a iphone without cell radio and my old walkman phone gives better music quality than that.
I know some hi res lover people but cost of these things is too high in india due to stupid tax systems
Walkman ZX2, if came to india will cost same as a 4K tv from sony!
I wish they sell A series Walkman as they are priced reasonably good for here!
I will like to buy a NWZ A20 with Audio Technica ATH IM01
Otherwise i will buy Xperia Z5 with MDR-NC750

I just recently ordered a Vivo x5 max Ultimate Edition. I hope this new device will be on par with my long time z3. From what ive read and researched the vivo x5 max rivals high end daps and is the best audio experience this far when it comes to mobile phones.  It was rather expensive tho for a phone with such mediocre hardware. I suppose the costs all went into the multiple audio chips(ES9018 DAC, TI OPA1612 and ES9601 Operational amps + Yamaha chip allows for real time microphone monitoring)
 
While I do love my z3 to death and stand by its sq against almost any phone the low volume output was just not working out for me. I normally use IEMs (shure se846) which sound fantastic with the z3 but I do have a few pairs of full sized portables that I wanted to be able to use without having to bring around a portable headphone amp. If only sony would give that beautiful sq a bit more volume.When the new device arrives I will share my thoughts between the two devices.  It would really be a real shame if the z5 isnt as good as the z3 in terms of sq. That z5 looks mighty tempting.

My phone contract is up for renewal & iv currently got the samsung note 3. Would it be better for me to get the z3 next for the sound quality or wait for the z5? I'm not really bothered about anything else. I just want a phone that had got decent sound out of the 3.5mm jack.

The Z5 is not out yet. Even if it is, only a few who reviews phones and technical stuff care about it, none of the in depth audio quality review yet. But Z3 is cheaper in all regard, and still is good sounding device. If Z5 is only faster, more expensive, and similar audio quality, I would buy Z3 again for cheaper, and same audio performance. I careless about smartphone processing speed, just as long as it doesn't randomly froze on me .

Anything else, I got iPad to take care of.

My findings were that HTC One M9 > HTC One M8 > Note 5 > Galaxy S6 > iPhone 6 in sound quality from mainstream phones. I've listened to everything except the M9 and Note 5 and i can confirm this to be true to my ears.

The Z3 had mixed reviews. Maybe the software on the Z3 is just great at upscaling sound. Who knows?

I tried the Z5 und Z5 compact yesterday and i wasn't able to hear obvious differences to my Z3 compact. Let's wait for the first reviews.

Yes. The HTC One M9 has the best phone sound quality and it can get the loudest as well.
