I had a quick search and there is nothing about the new Xperia Z Tablet. I am reviewing it on my blog every day www.gavinsgadgets.co.uk but I wanted to mention the audio side on here.

Check my profile for all my current and previous devices, headphones, amps etc. I'm going to open this with a bold statement. The Z tablet is better than anything I have used and by a great margin. I am using the Walkman app and mp3 tracks at 320 bit rate. My genre of music is varied. But everything sounds sweet.

What's amazing. The musicality, separation, soundstage, power, dynamics. I'm using my Sony mdr-1r which sound ridiculously good with this tablet.

Rather than ramble on, ask some questions and I will answer them.

I bought my Tablet Z a couple of days back and I had the same exact feeling, it was the best sounding mobile device I had used in a long time, I thought may be it was a placebo effect.

I should think so. My Xperia Z phone's Walkman app plays Flac up to 24/96 files. That said, while not bad, it lacks the power and clarity of my dedicated DAPs (iBasso DX100 and RWAK100) or Walkman NW-Z1070 for that matter.

Has any one tried using it with an external Dac via the USB output? If so what results were had?
Is there a way to do higher than 24/96 files on it?
Will the USB power an external Hard drive? Does it output 5v or 2.5v on the USB output.
I have had 2 top of the line Sony Laptop over the yrs, so I am a big fan but have never been that excited about their tablets so you have peaked my interest with the comments so far. I will check out your reviews on your Blog next.

I had the Xperia Z tablet but fell in love with Duo 11. I'm not keen on Android anymore, there is so much icons and many of which cant be removed and have no use.
Also the Duo accepts PHA-1 and I can play around with itunes (unlike Android) watching HD 007 movies.
