has anyone ever done this? i kind of want to try this to see if it would affect the sound in anyway, as i understand it the xb700 pads are larger than the xb500 pads, can any owners of both give it a try for the sake of....SCIENCE!

i think the reason the pad is bigger is because the driver is bigger

yes but a bigger pad would also have to change the sound to some degree dont you think?

headroom pictures are very good for making measurements since they use the same size head for all their headphones

the housing does appear to be bigger on the xb700. but i bet you can get them to fit with some form of mod if they don't fit naturally

there would probably only be a change in sound if the ear pads put change the distance between the driver and your ears, if there just bigger in terms of circumference they should not really make a difference
