I used Spinfit Silicon on my XM4's.

I have Spinfits on mine, too. And Sedna tips on my Fiio IEMs. We'll need to find out what fits on the XM5 nozzles (and fits in the case).

I must be in the minority, I loved the foam tips on the xm4 even though I'm not a huge fan of them usually.

Sony have shipped my XM5s. Expect them tomorrow.

All the comments saying these are more comfortable and will fit better than the xm4, do you even realise that they are using the same ear tips as the older version?! How are they supposed to fit better? The size and weight plays some role but not as much as the tips. And as a heavy user of xm4, i can tell that those tips really hurts your ear canals

I think the eartips are great they have the best seal possible for the noise cancelling ...the problem was the size of the XM4 itself around the outer ear, the tips were perfectly fine for me

One can always play with alternative tips. The buds, on the other hand, are smaller, so should be easier on the ears.

I believe the durometer of the foam is slightly different on the XM5, will find out tomorrow anyhow.

The new tips are different than the old ones, but still a foam and plastic combination. One site reports "Sony provides improved memory foam ear tips that are more flexible, making them easier to squeeze and mold to your ears. Listeners with small ears will want to nab these buds as Sony provides ultra-small, small, medium, and large ear tips."

Nice, if you don’t mind I hope you share with us your thoughts once you get it, I got the XM4’s I was thinking of upgrading to these if they are worth grabbing.

Hi, if you don’t mind, I‘d like to ask those of you who already have or will have both the WF-1000XM4 and XM5 for a comparative listening.

I have the XM4, and I like them, using Final E tips. I use them mostly with my iPhone (Bluetooth AAC codec) for ease of usage, and sometimes with my Cayin N8ii DAP (LDAC codec). The two codecs feel audibly different.

Now, What Hi-Fi? already published a review, HERE. I’m taking such review as always with the necessary caution, but their statements about improved sound quality stick in mind.

Thus, I‘d like to ask you:

• Your opinions wrt sound characteristics?
• If there are sonic differences between the XM4 and XM5, do they ”survive“ when being fed from an iPhone with AAC?
