I was wondering if anyone's had any listening time with a Sony STR-V5 reciever? I've been using it for about a year now after finding my parent's stash of old stereo equipment in the basement. I'm about as far as it gets from an audiophile, infact, I think if an audiophile did come into my room and saw how I had my equipment set up, that person would probably cry. I was just wondering how this amp stands up to others manufactured around it's time, and amps today.

I've owned my STR-V5 since 1979. I would put it up against anything out there. The only problems I've ever had is with the phono switch not making good contact. I do recommend adding an equilizer for richer sound adjustment.
